CCGG Market Commentary

November 21, 2014    Commentary

Wheat futures ended even or pretty close to it on the three major exchanges late in trading today.  White wheat supply/demand stands out better than other major U.S. classes as stocks this years stocks are lower and just keeping up with demand, hence our somewhat stable, yet choppy, values.  Overall global wheat supplies remain good with a strong U.S. dollar hurting exports.  There is still some talk of concern on the Russian winter wheat crop.  For the week, SWW is 9 cents softer from last Friday with DNS up 8 cents and HRW up 10 cents.  We're 70% bought in on our SWW stocks with 98% of the barley purchased, 77% of the DNS has been purchased and 64% of the HRW has been bought.  Only three trading days next week due to Thanksgiving and I expect no earth shattering moves.
