CCGG Market Commentary

November 25, 2015    Morning Bids

Wheat futures are slightly in the green this morning following beans higher on the thin pre-holiday trade. Major weather concerns seem few and far between currently which is limiting the upside potential for wheat. The recent range from $4.80 to $5.00 in the futures could extend out to the $4.60 to $5.20 level on any significant news but we are going to need something with some serious traction to push beyond that range. Basis from Portland has been stagnant without a lot of push or pull over the last 2 weeks. The funds remain very short which also opens us up to a potential short covering rally down the road. Buying pace has been slow for the last two weeks which could lead to some support from Portland if futures stay down in these levels. Columbia County is about 50% bought in this marketing year which is well behind the average pace. See below for our holiday hours and our recent announcement of a proposed merger with Northwest Grain Growers. Happy Thanksgiving!

CCGG and NWGG Proposed Merger

Recently CCGG mailed out an information letter to our members announcing that the Columbia County Grain Growers Board of Directors and Northwest Grain Growers Board of Directors have proposed merging the two cooperatives and will be asking for a vote from their respective memberships.
